Lockdown activities - Beautiful colouring books & free colouring sheets

Sunday, 21 February 2021

Throughout lockdown one of the activities I've loved doing most is colouring! It's been a great alternative to scrolling on my phone whilst watching films and TV, plus is just as relaxing as an adult as it was when I was a child.

A gorgeous colouring book that I recently picked up is by Melissa Webb, also known as Mellow Doodles.  She creates stunning mental health themed illustrations over on her Instagram, as well as beautiful prints, stationary and colouring books!

The Self Love Colouring Book is both fun and inspiring, filled with lots of self love and mental health themed quotes, plus pretty patterns, that you can colour in (or maybe paint?) in your favourite colour combos! If you fancy picking one of these up for yourself, or a loved one (they'd make fab gifts) then you can find them on Melissa's shop, here. This colouring book is perfect for a day when you're feeling down as the quotes will definitely put a smile on your face, and the colouring itself is just a great way to relax and unwind.

Another colouring book that I've had since lockdown 1, and not yet finished is by Jade Summer and is called the "Intricate Mandalas Colouring Book". It's just lots of patterns and mandalas, but is a really thick colouring book, so will definitely last you a good while!

Now, you may not be sure if colouring is quite your vibe, so if you'd like to try before you buy, then there's also lots of fab free colouring sheets available too! Lots of different illustrators, brands and graphic designers have created their very own printable colouring sheets.

Below is a selection of a few of my favourites:

1. Ella Masters

2. Oana Befort

3. Olive + Frank

4. Mr Jones Watches

5. Digital Motherhood
